Client spotlight: Influencer Jessica Ireland talks about her experience with our Placenta Ecanpsulation
1. Let's start with the heart of it—what made you decide to encapsulate your placenta this time around?
This was my third baby, and honestly, placenta encapsulation was something I’d never even heard of before. But it came up during my hypnobirthing class, and once I learned about the potential benefits, I was genuinely intrigued. It really opened my mind to the idea.
2. Did you have any worries or doubts at first about placenta encapsulation? And what changed your mind?
i’ll be honest—when I first heard about it, I was a bit unsure. The whole idea felt strange at first. But learning more about it during hypnobirthing, and hearing about how it could support postpartum recovery, completely shifted my perspective. It started to make so much sense & just felt really aligned.
3. How would you describe your postpartum recovery compared to previous births where you didn’t take your placenta?
This has actually been my smoothest recovery yet—even though it was my biggest baby, and I’m the oldest I’ve been giving birth! You’d think that would make it harder, but it was quite the opposite.
4. Did you notice any differences in your energy, mood, or milk supply after taking your capsules?
Yes, those were the biggest changes I noticed. My milk supply felt more balanced than it ever has—and this is my third time breastfeeding. I also felt emotionally steady, relaxed, and didn’t experience the baby blues at all. My mood was the most consistent it’s ever been postpartum.
5. How did you feel emotionally in those first few weeks? Did the capsules play a role in how you coped or bonded with baby?
I felt really grounded—no major highs or lows, just very steady. Taking the capsules felt really special, especially knowing they came from my own body. I do think they played a part in how calm and connected I felt in those early weeks.
6. Was there a moment you thought to yourself, “I’m so glad I did this”?
Yes—honestly, during the birth itself, when I was delivering the placenta. Knowing it wasn’t just being discarded, but instead would be used to support my recovery, made that moment feel really meaningful.
7. For anyone on the fence about placenta encapsulation—what would you say to them now, having experienced it yourself?
I’d say don’t write it off just because it sounds unusual. Once you understand what it is and how it can support you, it actually makes a lot of sense. I was hesitant at first too, but now I couldn’t imagine doing it any other way.
8. If you were to have another baby, would you choose to encapsulate your placenta again?
Absolutely! It’s such a unique opportunity—something you only get to do once per baby—so I’d 100% do it again.
