Why Choose Placenta Remedies?

  • Placentas are linked to help restore depleted energy levels after birth by replenishing key nutrients lost during labour. Many mothers report feeling less fatigue and more capable of managing the demands of early postpartum life.

  • The placenta contains natural hormones like oestrogen and progesterone, which may help rebalance the body’s hormone levels after childbirth. This balance is thought to reduce the risk of mood swings, anxiety, and postnatal depression.

  • Placenta encapsulation is linked to supporting faster healing by delivering vital nutrients, hormones, and proteins that aid in tissue repair and overall recovery. This can help mothers feel stronger and more resilient in the early weeks.

  • Postpartum hair loss is often triggered by hormonal changes. The nutrients and hormones found in placenta remedies may help stabilise these shifts and promote healthier hair growth in the months after birth.

  • Some mothers find that taking placenta capsules can support milk supply due to the presence of prolactin and other lactation-supportive elements. The extra nutrients may also contribute to better hydration and energy, indirectly supporting breastfeeding.

  • The placenta helps the uterus contract more efficiently after birth, which can reduce the length and heaviness of postnatal bleeding. This benefit is often associated with faster uterine involution.

  • The placenta contains iron, which is essential for restoring blood levels after delivery. Supplementing with placenta capsules may help prevent or reduce postnatal anaemia, supporting overall energy and wellbeing.

  • What our happy mums say

‘ I honestly cant find the words to express my gratitude to you and what you do. My main reason for coming to you was to try and prevent post-natal depression, or even lessen the effects as I suffered terribly for 9 years after having my other 3 babies. I can honestly say I feel better now than I could have ever imagined. Im full of energy, my mind is so positive, even during those long sleepless nights at the beginning.'

  • What our happy mums say

'My post-partum journey has been so smooth. I just want to thank you for enabling me to have this amazing experience. This is my 4th baby, by my 1st time ever having a new born without suffering post-natal depression. This has been a whole, new amazing, beautiful crazy time and I have you to thank for that. I just wish I could have experienced this with my other 3 babies. Encapsulating my placenta has been so invaluable and I just know you are going to go on and do even more amazing things.’

 FAQs

  • Placenta encapsulation is the process of steaming, dehydrating, grinding, and placing the placenta into capsules to be taken as a natural supplement after childbirth.

  • Yes, placenta encapsulation is safe when carried out by a trained and certified professional using strict hygiene standards—and that's exactly what I provide. I’ve built a dedicated, stand-alone placenta lab designed specifically for safe and hygienic processing.

I only ever process one placenta at a time, ensuring there is no risk of cross-contamination. I’m fully trained, certified, and follow all up-to-date health and safety protocols, so you can feel completely confident that your placenta is in safe hands.

Your health, safety, and peace of mind are my top priority.

  • There are typically two methods:

Traditional Chinese Method (TCM): The placenta is steamed with lemon and ginger before dehydration.

Giving you a more calming effect.

Raw/Simple Method: The placenta is dehydrated without steaming. often believed to preserve more nutrients.

    Giving you more energy

  • It’s best to plan in advanced as I have limited spaces each month. But I will do everything in my power to make this happen for you whatever stage of your pregnancy you're at.

  • - I had a C-section

Yes. The placenta must be healthy and uncontaminated.

    - I have pre-eclampsia?

Yes,  you can still encapsulate your placenta if you had pre-eclampsia. As long as the placenta is healthy, has not been sent to pathology, and is properly stored after birth, it is safe to encapsulate.

    - If I have Group B Strep (GBS)?

Yes, it is safe to consume your placenta if you have Group B Strep. Your placenta will be prepared using the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method, which involves steaming the placenta thoroughly before dehydration. This high-heat process is designed to reduce potential bacteria and ensure the capsules are safe for consumption.

    - If I have gesitional diabetes

Yes, it's safe to consume your placenta aslong as it is stored and handled appropriately

    - Can I still encapsulate my placenta if my baby pooed during labour (meconium)?

Yes, placenta encapsulation is still possible if there was meconium present during labour. The placenta is thoroughly cleaned and prepared using the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) method, which includes steaming at a high temperature—a process that helps eliminate bacteria and reduce any potential risk.

  • Usually between 100–250 capsules, depending on the size of the placenta and processing method.

  • The only side effects that have been reported so far with the mamas I have worked with is the taste. But I always recommend to consume with orange juice. This helps dull out any tastes from your pills.

  • Remember, your placenta belongs to you. Most hospitals in Ireland are supportive of placenta encapsulation. It’s helpful to inform your midwife or care team in advance, and I can provide you with any paperwork or guidance you may need.

  • In most cases, your placenta can be safely encapsulated. However, there are a few rare situations where encapsulation may not be recommended—such as if the placenta is sent to pathology, not stored properly after birth, or shows signs of infection. That said, I assess each placenta individually, and I’ll always let you know if there are any concerns. The good news is that the vast majority of placentas are perfectly suitable for encapsulation when stored correctly and handled promptly.

It is not recommended to consume your placenta if you smoke regularly during pregnancy. This is because toxins from cigarettes, including heavy metals and harmful chemicals, can accumulate in the placenta, which may then be present in the capsules. I do not encapsulate placentas where regular smoking is disclosed.

Your postpartum health is my top priority, and I’m always happy to offer support or suggest alternative remedies that may be more suitable

  • No, placenta encapsulation is not considered cannibalism. Cannibalism refers to the act of consuming the flesh of another human being. In placenta encapsulation, you're consuming your own placenta, which is a temporary organ your body creates during pregnancy to nourish your baby.

Many cultures around the world view the placenta as a powerful and healing part of the postpartum journey. Consuming it is a personal and natural choice made by many mothers seeking to support their recovery and well-being after birth.
